Ryan and I wanted to eat out this weekend. We had planned to just do appetizers, or dessert and maybe a drink. We ended up at Claim Jumper. I was excited to eat there, we hadn't been there in almost two years. We began looking through the menu. Then we found the nutrition facts section. Great! We can figure out the points. Sweet.
Not. Their calories are off the chart high! They have this famous cake that was like 6 layers thick...three thousand calories!!!! For one slice! There was nothing really (besides some vegetables and some things like that) that were below 5 or 6 hundred calories. The average dish was about a thousand calories.
We decided that Claim Jumper was not the place for us, or anyone on Weight Watchers. I settled for the small order of wings (like 500+ calories) and Ryan had the kids fish. We were so surprised when we looked at the nutirtion facts, and well, disappointed.

Sweet Tomatoes: Friend or Foe?

I had lunch today at Sweet Tomatoes. I thought, well, salad is easy enough to be healthy with right? Wrong. Well, for me at least. Ryan and I are doing Weight Watchers, so I was trying to be within my allowed points for the day, which are not too many. I piled my plate with veggies, lettuce and a dab of dressing. Ok, doing good. Grabbed a half cup of Caesar Salad and their Wonton Goodness. I added two small bread stick like things, and maybe a cup of pasta then sat down to eat. Noticing the fat free frozen yogurt I grabbed a small bowl, maybe a half a cup. So, not too bad, so I thought. When I looked at the nutrition facts, I racked up almost 30 points!! That is more than my allowed amount in a day. The Caesar Salad, for one cup is 270 Calories. That is one cup full. I was shocked to find out just high in points, fat and calories some of their selections were. I didn't even touch their soups. or their breads! So for me, Sweet Tomatoes, Salad Bar extravaganza is definitely a foe. That is unless I only eat vegetables...
